So today, I was in my car and I was casually looking out the window pretending I was in a movie. (The usual)
I saw a young man walk out of his apartment building holding a copy of the hunger games.
Later on, I saw a middle aged woman crossing the street while reading catching fire.
A couple weeks ago, I was at my aunt’s house along with some other family. The Hunger Games trailer came on and my mother told them all about my obsession and how I had gone to see it, and I was going again soon. They then proceeded to ask me how the movie was. I said amazing of course.
A couple days ago, my English teacher stated that Catching Fire was her favorite book and said she was a bit disappointed with Mockingjay.
Last Friday, I saw my friend making the silent salute. So I proceed to give him the silent salute as well.
A month ago, I was competing in a science fair and I overheard some guys fighting about how “and may the odds be ever in your favor” quote belonged to them, and how it was “their thing”
My Math/Science/Gym teacher told us that his daughter was currently reading Mockingjay and found it was quite political.
I’m guess what I’m trying to say is that I love when the hunger games comes into my life outside of tumblr.
No to sound rude but this happens to be the third comment I’ve gotten on this post, claiming that I’ve ruined the book for them. First off let me start by saying that this is my blog and I’m free to post what I want. Second of all, that post is tagged with mockingjay.. so they’re some warning signs. Again, I don’t see why an individual who hasn’t read all three books would start to follow my blog or any hunger games blog for that matter of fact. Tumblr is the home, scratch that, the CREATER of spoilers. So please, no more comments or asks about that post. It makes me feel guilty & sad when in reality you’re responsible for the blogs you follow. I know you can’t control what you see on your dash, but you can download TUMBLR SAVIOR and blacklist certain tags, because I do tag all posts with all three books.
Let me just finish off by saying that this blog is not spoiler free. I know it’s only called “the hunger games” bucketlist but sadly thehungergamescatchingfiremockingjaybucketlist was a tad lengthy. I apologize to all the people I’ve spoiled mockingjay for, but both sides are to blame. Please take pre-cautions.
Honestly, I found out that Prim and others died before I had read the books, but that made me want to read them more so I could find out how and why they died. Although it was a little disappointing to find it out beforehand, I was still incredibly shocked when it actually happened!
Yeah, for me I had a ton of spoilers… which really sucked.. but you’re right, it inspired me to read further and wonder why and how that certain event had happened.
Omg have you heard The massive rumor that Justin Timberlake is playing Finnick?! Just no I'm sorry, yeah, his a talented guy I'm not denying that but I don't think he could capture this important role the way others can! And to those people who are like "you spoiled it for me", just shut up as if you didn't know there were going to be spoilers and you could not have known people hadnt read it all. And to other people who are like "thats rude" or whatever get over yourselves.
All I saw was a snip of his wiki page saying he might be playing Finnick Odair.. Which I thought was a very weird cast.. but when you think about it anyone can go and edit that.. so you never really know. I really hope that it’s not true. I used to adore Justin Timberlake like any other teenager but… I really don’t seem him playing Finnick Odair.. & Yes you’re right. I really don’t think people should be following me if they’re afraid of spoilers. ^ thank you.
Would you hate me if I said I wanted to read (and even bought) THG before the movie was even announced, but never got around to it until right before I saw it in theaters??
LOL, I don’t hate anybody. I’m just ranting about nonsense, don’t mind me. I guess you just needed that little push x) As much as I hate people who only start to like something because they’re friends like it.. at the end of the day, if you truly love the series, feel a connection to the characters and can say the books honestly changed your life.. then i’m cool with it.
That thing you said to that person about being a "teen hipster" who just heard about the movie and then decided to read the books is really rude. I hadn't heard of The Hunger Games before I heard about the movie, but that doesn't make me a "teen hipster" or some kind of poser or something for liking the books now. Or do you actually think that it does make me something like that?
No, actually I don’t think that. I thought that specific anon was acting like a teen hipster. Of course I don’t think its bad if you find the movie and then start to read the books. I guess part of a movie is promoting the books. But they’re are certain people who are only reading books because everyone else is, following blogs about it and getting involved to be in the “in crowd” and the complaining about spoilers… that doesn’t sound right. I admit that was a bit rude, I typed that out of anger, I don’t share that opinion of everyone. They’re are two types of people
1. See the movie, find it interesting/amazing decided to read the books.
2. Hear it’s the next big thing and read the books.
Anyway, I don’t even know that anon’s story so I shouldnt assume.. I just thought it was crazy how they accused me of posting spoilers on a blog about the hunger games.. They’re is a difference between someone posting spoilers and you creating spoilers for yourself by following a blog that posts from all 3 books.. as most hunger games blogs do.
My friend was the same way with spoilers. he followed a page on facebook. He's not a "teen hipster" tho, he just doesnt read much but when the movie was coming out he decided to read the books since everyone had told him too. but he read a spoiler, i think about prim dying. and i had to try to explain it without giving away too much lol. I keep telling him to read the next ones. hopefully he will once finals are over.
Yeah, he should! Make it your mission to have him read all the books. haha c:
Dont be sorry that you spoiled the ending of Mockingjay, its people's own fault if they follow a Hunger Games AND Catching Fire AND Mockingjay blog if they havent read the books. They should expect spoilers! they're the stupid ones, so dont apologise to them! (and you CAN answer this publicly if you want, you dont have to make it private =] )
In a way I feel bad.. and in a way I don’t.. I mean I know I would hate for that to happen to me, but then again I probably wouldn’t follow hunger games blogs until I was done with all the books, or I would blacklist certain tags.. this is just crazy.. :c ^ I do agree with you though.. haha x
also you can just tag that post with thg spoilers or something. because i know you can block posts with certain tags from showing up.
that’s true.. but technically it’s not a spoiler.. If you’re a hunger games fan that means that you’re a fan of the hunger games series, not just the one book. I would assume that a great majority or people would have read all 3 books. (I’m not saying that you have to read all 3 books to follow me, just please don’t complain about spoilers)
your "read a version of mockingjay where prim doesnt die" just spoiled it for me and im pretty sure lots of other people. thanks a lot.
umm. not to be rude but I’m guessing you’re one of those teen hipsters who heard about the hunger games movie, saw the movie and then decided to read the books. Why would you follow a blog like this if you haven’t finished the books? That’s your own fault.. but because you’re so upset and seem to think other people would be so crude as to follow a blog about the hunger games/catching fire/mockingjay when they haven’t even read the books… I’m sorry I spoiled it for you. Although you can clearly see the post is tagged with all 3 books, thats including mockingjay. If you don’t want spoilers then blacklist the tag mockingjay. Plus that post was requested..
Do you think casting for CF will start soon? Because I heard filming is starting this summer or fall.
Yeah, that’s what I heard.. I suppose they might have a good idea of who they’d like to cast or maybe they’ve already cast a few parts.. I mean summer isn’t far.. As for us (the fans) finding out who has been cast.. that might take a little longer. But I suppose when they start filming we should see a few photos from the set, like we did with the hunger games.
The last post (Panem Christmas), they or may not have some kind of holiday like it, but in the books, Katniss states there are no churches or religion.
true, that one was requested by an anon. I would see how they would wonder though. Even if they don’t have religion, they might (like you said) have a day similar to it where they exchanged gifts and such.
